Google Maps Image Downloader download the tiles of the maps to your HD and it keeps the info, so you can join them and form a big map if you need.

Furthermore you can easily get the longitude and latitude of each downloaded small tile image.

It is very easy to use, you only have to access Google Maps, see the coordinates of the place you want to download, then access Google Maps Image Downloader and insert them and choose the detail level.

Restrictions:
The trial version only allows to download up to zoom 13 images.
